13th Annual Spring Rain Barrel Sale

Rain Barrel

The Rain Barrel Program is a collaboration between Lafayette Consolidated Government’s Environmental Quality Division and Lafayette Utilities System (LUS) Lafayette Consolidated Government (LCG). The program aims to promote outdoor water conservation and sustainable stormwater management of the Bayou Vermilion Watershed.

Residents of the City of Lafayette or unincorporated regions of Lafayette Parish have the opportunity to purchase a 55-gallon barrel at a reduced, subsidized price during the spring season of each calendar year.

The Upcycle Products, Inc. rain barrels are recycled food-grade barrels with:

  • Removable screw-top with a drilled hole in the center for the rain to enter
  • Mesh screen to keep our debris and mosquitoes
  • Overflow valve to redirect overflow water or attach barrels for greater water collection
  • Spigot for access and control of the rainwater

Rain barrels are on sale now until May 4 or until sold out. Eligible participants can purchase their first rain barrel for only $44.00 (group rate of $59.00 less the LUS/LCG subsidy of $15.00). Any additional barrels purchased will be sold at the group rate of $59.00.
