Bulky Waste - Large Appliances, Furniture & Other Items

"Bulky waste" or large item collection is performed by Acadiana Waste Services every week. These are large items for disposal that will not fit into your 96-gallon garbage cart. Bagged items, and items that are small enough to fit into your garbage cart must be put into your black and red container with the lid able to completely close.

Automobile tires can be collected as bulky items. There is a five tire maximum per week and residential use only.

Bulky Items include, but are not limited to:

• Appliances
• Furniture
• TVs

Construction debris options: (a) renting a dumpster; or (b) bringing the material to a "Construction & Demolition Landfill," call 291-8529 for locations and information. It is strongly recommended that if you hire out home improvement work, you require the contractor to remove and dispose of waste.

For bulky collection place items out at the curb prior to your service date. Make sure items are placed at least three feet apart from carts, mailboxes, yard waste piles, and parked cars. Make sure that there are no overhead trees or utility lines above your items, and that nothing is blocking access to your items by the service truck.
