Following the recent groundbreaking on March 23, which marked the start of construction of undergrounding communications infrastructure, this project continues to move forward with a focus on connectivity, safety, and long-term resilience. The design will highlight enhancements to pedestrian and bicycle access, improved traffic flow, and strengthened infrastructure to better serve nearby businesses, neighborhoods, and community assets. These investments will help deliver more reliable utilities while reducing overhead clutter, supporting a more connected and visually cohesive corridor.

📢 Public Meeting: 2026 Hazard Mitigation Plan Update

 Lafayette Consolidated Government and the Lafayette Parish Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (OHSEP) are hosting a public meeting to gather community input for the 2026 Hazard Mitigation Plan updates.

This meeting will focus on risk assets and natural hazards, including flood mapping, drainage concerns, and other severe weather impacts affecting Lafayette Parish. Attendees will have the opportunity to review updated maps and provide feedback on how these risks are identified and addressed.

The project introduces four brand-new pickleball courts, updated restrooms, a new concession stand, a shaded picnic area, and ADA-accessible parking, enhancing accessibility and creating more opportunities for recreation and community connection. These improvements reflect our continued investment in the PARC system and our excitement to offer residents a refreshed space for recreation, connection, and friendly competition.
