Join Lafayette Consolidated Government’s PARC Department as we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Jay & Lionel Hebert Municipal Golf Course, Lafayette’s oldest public golf course and a longtime community gathering place. The centennial kickoff celebration will take place Friday, March 20 at 4:00 p.m. at the course (1121 Mudd Avenue). Community members, golfers, and supporters are invited to attend as Lafayette honors a century of golf, tradition, and the legacy of local champions Jay and Lionel Hebert, the only brothers in golf history to both win the PGA Championship. Come celebrate this historic milestone and the course that has brought generations of Lafayette residents together through the game of golf.

The project introduces four brand-new pickleball courts, updated restrooms, a new concession stand, a shaded picnic area, and ADA-accessible parking, enhancing accessibility and creating more opportunities for recreation and community connection. These improvements reflect our continued investment in the PARC system and our excitement to offer residents a refreshed space for recreation, connection, and friendly competition. Join Lafayette PARC for the Pickleball Spring Classic Tournament, a competitive and fun-filled event welcoming adult players of all skill levels. The tournament will take place on Saturday, March 14, 2026, beginning at 8:00 a.m., at the Thomas & Dupuis Recreation Centers. Participants can compete in men’s and women’s singles and doubles divisions. Registration Fees:
This event is open to ages 18 and up. Players must register in advance by clicking here. Deadline to register is February 28, 2026. Whether you’re a seasoned competitor or looking to test your skills on the court, the PARC Pickleball Spring Classic is the perfect way to kick off the spring season.
