National Day of Prayer ()
515 Cathedral Street, Lafayette , Louisiana

Lafayette Mayor-President Monique B. Boulet invites the community for a special observance of the National Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at St. John’s Cathedral. The event will provide an opportunity for individuals from all backgrounds and faiths to unite in prayer, reflection, and fellowship.

The National Day of Prayer, now in its 74th year, is an annual observance recognized across the United States, bringing people together to seek wisdom, guidance, and strength for the nation and its leaders. This year’s gathering in Lafayette will echo the national theme calling America to ‘Pour Out to the God of Hope and Be Filled.’

“As we come together in prayer, we’re reminded of what truly strengthens our community—faith and family,” said Mayor-President Boulet. “Prayer is a powerful way to guide our leaders and bring hope for Lafayette’s future.”

Local faith leaders and community members will offer prayers for the city, state, and nation, emphasizing themes of leadership, peace, and prosperity. Attendees will also have an opportunity to reflect on the significance of prayer in both personal and civic life.
