Kenneth Boudreaux returns for a fourth term of legislative service to Lafayette Consolidated Government. He is newly-elected for his first term representing Lafayette City Council District 5; however, he also served on the Lafayette City-Parish Council for three (3) consecutive terms from 2008 to 2019, having been previously elected to represent the former District 4 – twice without opposition. Councilman Boudreaux was born, raised, trained, and educated in the City of Lafayette and has been a lifelong resident. He is the father of three (3) amazing individuals – Jasmine, Kayla, and Reginold, as well as grandfather to three (3) precious humans – Micah, Amirie, and Alanna. In addition to being a small business owner and a radio talk show host, Councilman Boudreaux is currently employed by Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office. He is a product of Lafayette Parish School System, having graduated from The Northside High School. Councilman Boudreaux is also a graduate of University of Southwestern Louisiana. He truly enjoys serving in an elected capacity. After being away from public service after four (4) years, he looks forward to his return to serving people, business, and community. Councilman Boudreaux’s public service was inspired by a grandmother who was a school cafeteria worker, a grandmother who took the first African American female to Louisiana Girls State, a grandfather who served in the United States Army and was a founding member of the Lafayette NAACP, a grandfather who was one of Lafayette’s first black police officers, a mother who was a ward clerk at the old charity hospital, then later went back to school to become a nurse, and a father who woke up every day and went to work in order to provide for his wife and eight (8) children.
