Andy Naquin returns for a second consecutive term representing Lafayette City Council District 2. He also served Lafayette Consolidated Government from 2012 to 2015 on the Lafayette City-Parish Council, having represented the former District 6, so he brings eight (8) years of experience as a Councilmember in this government, now serving in a third term. He was born in New Orleans and has lived in Lafayette since 1957. Councilman Naquin has been married to the former Peggy L. Cormier for 43 years, during which time he credits her with unwavering support, and together they share three (3) daughters and three (3) grandchildren. Councilman Naquin worked 44 years selling building materials and he retired from this industry in 2021 after having been employed by Doug Ashy Building Materials for 31 years. He is a 1972 graduate of Our Lady of Fatima School and a 1979 graduate of University of Southwestern Louisiana with a bachelor’s of science degree. Councilman Naquin is most proud of the fruits of his marriage to Mrs. Naquin – that being their daughters, along with their spouses, and the responsible people they have all become. His joy is in each of them. Councilman Naquin’s life has always been one of public service, and he continues that pursuit because he wants to contribute to a better Lafayette, Louisiana – a City and a Parish that he has always loved and respected.
