NOW OPEN: BONIN ROAD

Lafayette, LA – Lafayette Consolidated Government (LCG) announces the reopening of the 900 block of Bonin Road following cross drain repairs under the roadway. Crews installed a new concrete pipe and extended the drain to restore the road shoulder. This project was delivered on schedule, and will improve safety for drivers in and around this high-traffic area. Future road resurfacing to come in 2026.

ROAD CLOSURE: BONIN ROAD

Lafayette, LA – The 900 block of Bonin Road will be closed to vehicular traffic beginning Tuesday, January 20, 2026 through Friday, January 23, 2026.

Drainage crews will be performing cross drain repairs under the roadway across Bonin Road. During a routine inspection of drainage crossings, they identified that the existing corrugated metal x-drain required replacement.

Crews will install a new concrete pipe that is the correct size and extend the drain to restore the road shoulder. This work will improve safety for drivers and is being completed ahead of future road resurfacing.

Detour routes include:

• La Neuville Road
• Failla Road
• Verot School Road
• Artisan Road
• Tolson Road

Motorists are encouraged to use caution when traveling through the area and to follow all posted detour signage. Lafayette Consolidated Government appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation during this necessary infrastructure repair.
