LAFAYETTE CITY COURT WELCOMES JUDGE ROYA BOUSTANY TO THE BENCH

Lafayette, LA – Lafayette Consolidated Government (LCG) and the Lafayette City Court announce the official Judicial Investiture Ceremony of Judge Roya Boustany taking place Monday, February 17, 2025 at 3:30 p.m. at City Court (105 East Convent Street, Lafayette, LA 70501). Boustany will take the oath of office and formally assume her role on the Lafayette City Court bench. As City Court Judge for Division A, she will preside over civil cases, traffic violations, misdemeanor criminal cases, and other matters within the court’s jurisdiction. This ceremony marks the beginning of Judge Boustany’s tenure following her election, where she was chosen to fill the seat previously held by the late Judge Jules Edwards III.

“As a prosecutor, I’ve seen firsthand the challenges people face, and I’ve worked to ensure that justice is not only done but done efficiently and equitably,” said Boustany. “Judge Edwards was at the infancy stages of creating some incredible programs and I hope to carry on his legacy of addressing the root causes of criminal behavior, especially among our youth, so we can make our community stronger, safer, and create a better future for our citizens.”
