RESCUE PARTNERSHIPS

LASCC welcomes all 501c3 rescue partners!

Collaborating with various non-profit organizations in and around Lafayette is not only imperative to the success of our shelter, but it’s part of our day to day activities.  Achieving No Kill requires access to low cost spay/neuter services, increasing rescues/transports, and surrender prevention.

Wildcat Foundation/SpayNation is our largest supporter in spay/neuter efforts for Lafayette Parish.  SpayNation plays an important role in reducing the animal population in our community, therefore reducing unwanted pets entering the shelter. It is also part of the Cats Clocking In Working Cat Program. LASCC works with all 501c3 animal rescue groups, which have full access to available animals.  We do not have a pull fee and can provide vetting to the animals being rescued if needed.

Acadiana Animal Aid (AAA) is our biggest rescue/transport partner, pulling about 500-700 animals from our shelter annually. AAA's transport program brings adoptable pets to new homes across the nation. The Friends of the Lafayette Animal Shelter (FLASh) is a wonderful non-profit organization that focuses on surrender prevention.  Keeping pets with their owners is always an ideal situation.  LASCC welcomes all non-profit organizations that would like to help better serve the animals and pet owners of Lafayette Parish.

Organizations interested in partnering with LASCC can contact a shelter representative at LASCC@lafayettela.gov
