INNOVATION & TECHNOLOGY

The Innovation & Technology Department provides enterprise technology services to Lafayette Consolidated Government (LCG). The department is dedicated to implementing secure and reliable solutions that enhance the LCG’s effectiveness in serving its citizens. Our goals are to provide automation, infrastructure, software, website presence, security policies and user support so that LCG can run more efficiently. By meeting these goals, we will be using technology to respond to community needs and help to improve the quality of life for Lafayette Parish’s citizens.

The Innovation & Technology department is comprised of 33 employees and is organized into 8  areas of responsibility as follows:

Enterprise Resource Planning - Implements and maintains LCG’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (budget, accounting, payroll) and its related components.

Software Services - Supports LCG’s vertical and horizontal computer software applications and provides SQL database services.

GIS and Public Safety - Develops, maintains and supports LCG’s enterprise Geographical Information System (GIS) and public safety applications.

Infrastructure - Responsible for all aspects of infrastructure support including the network, data, firewall and telecommunications areas.

Help Desk - Provides front line user support of software and hardware, which includes troubleshooting and deployment of personal computers, printers and equipment.

Records Management - Manages LCG’s record imaging system, helps to establish records retention policies, assists in records storage and assists in disaster recovery planning.

Web Development - Develops and maintains LCG’s internet and intranet websites.
