GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEMS & PUBLIC SAFETY

Develops, maintains and supports LCG’s enterprise Geographical Information System (GIS) and public safety applications.

The Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is a Division of LCG’s Innovation and Technology Department. The Division currently consists of a I&T Manager - GIS, Database Administrator, and two GIS Analyst.

The mission is to serve as a core to support and assist in the implementation of an Enterprise GIS System for Lafayette Consolidated Government.

The current implementation consists of a central GIS Server and Web Server running on an Oracle/Spatial Database Engine (ArcSDE) Database and Environmental Systems Research Inc. (ESRI)

The GIS Division is located on the second floor of City Hall, someone will be available to assist with map request between the hours of 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. The GIS group does map requests for the public and custom GIS requests for the various Lafayette Consolidated Government departments and external agencies.
