Johnston Street/Louisiana Avenue Revitalization Initiative

Request for Qualifications due January 27, 2025

Johnston Street and Louisiana Avenue (from Interstate 10 to Ambassador Caffery Parkway) is Lafayette’s backbone of commercial activity and a key connecting route between residential neighborhoods, public institutions, and recreational attractions. Known for heavy traffic congestion, inadequate bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure, and crowded utility lines, the Johnston Street and Louisiana Avenue corridor is in need of significant infrastructure investment and modernization. The goal of these improvements is to enhance the quality of life and safety for residents, and to continue to attract business investment and stewardship along the corridor.

The selected consultant/team (“Consultant Team”) will bring a multidisciplinary approach to professional planning, design and engineering that considers modern infrastructure investments to enhance safety and connectivity for all transportation users, a more resilient utility infrastructure grid, and policy and programing recommendations including zoning and land use along the corridor.

This is a Request for Qualifications. Submitting firms will be considered for their experience and ability to complete this project.
