GISELE PLACE TO CLOSE FOR BRIDGE REPLACEMENT BEGINNING APRIL 21

Lafayette, LA – Beginning Monday, April 21, 2025, Gisele Place will be closed to all through traffic for approximately eight months to allow for a full bridge replacement project.

The project includes the removal of the existing fully timber span structure and the installation of a new concrete box culvert. Additional improvements will include associated drainage work and channel lining using flexible revetment, enhancing the overall safety and durability of the roadway infrastructure.

Detour routes will be clearly marked and local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the project. Motorists are encouraged to use the following alternate routes:

  • Lepinay Road
  • W. Edith Road
  • Picard Road

Drivers are reminded to proceed with caution and be mindful of construction crews and signage in the area. Lafayette Consolidated Government appreciates the public’s patience as we work to improve critical transportation infrastructure.
