ACADIANA PARK CAMPGROUND REOPENS

Lafayette, LA –Lafayette Consolidated Government's Parks, Arts, Recreation, and Culture (PARC) Department announces the reopening of the Acadiana Park Campground effective January 2, 2025. The campground, which closed on May 29, 2024, due to staffing shortages, is now ready to welcome visitors once again as a destination for adventure and relaxation amidst the outdoors.

During the closure, the PARC Department conducted an extensive walkthrough and made repairs to ensure the campground meets the highest standards of safety and cleanliness. Completed improvements include:

• Repairing security lighting and plumbing leaks.
• Cleaning and repainting showers and restrooms.
• Mulching playgrounds and pressure washing picnic tables, pavilions, restrooms and office buildings.
• Cleaning site pads and inspecting BBQ pits, fire pits, breakers, and receptacles to ensure full functionality.
  

Campground Amenities:

The Acadiana Park Campground offers a variety of features to enhance the camping experience, including:

• 75 camping spots available
• Restrooms with showers
• Access to the Nature Trails and Acadiana Park
• Two playground units for children
• Picnic tables and covered pavilions
• BBQ pits and fire rings
• Electrical and water hookups
• Black water dump station located near the campground entrance
  

Reservations and Fees:

Reservations can be made at the standard fee of $28.00 per night, applicable to both RV and tent camping, by calling 337-291-8388.

“We are happy to reopen the Acadiana Park Campground in this new year and welcome campers back to enjoy this incredible outdoor space,” said PARC Director Tim Sensley. “Our team has worked diligently to prepare the site, and we are committed to maintaining its quality through our updated maintenance plan.”
