Funding a More Connected Johnston Street

Lafayette has been awarded nearly $8 million in federal Safe Streets funding to improve safety, visibility, and accessibility along Johnston Street, bringing the total investment in the Johnston St./Louisiana Ave. project to more than $35 million.

Lafayette Consolidated Government (LCG) and the Lafayette Parish Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (OHSEP) announce the official launch of LafayetteNOW, a modern emergency alert notification system designed to deliver timely, critical updates to the public when it matters most.

Veterans Golf 25% Off Discount

Beginning November 24, 2025, veterans presenting valid military ID will receive 25% off weekday green fees at Jay & Lionel Hebert, The Wetlands, and Les Vieux Chênes golf courses. This new benefit, approved unanimously by the Lafayette City Council, reflects LCG’s commitment to accessibility, affordability, and supporting Lafayette’s veteran community.
