What is Household Hazardous Waste Day?
Household Hazardous Waste Day provides Lafayette residents with a safe, convenient way to dispose of household chemicals and other hazardous materials that should never be placed in regular household trash or poured down drains.
Many common household products contain ingredients that can be harmful to people, pets, sanitation workers, and the environment if disposed of improperly. Household Hazardous Waste Day helps ensure these materials are collected and managed safely while keeping hazardous substances out of our waterways and landfills.
Event dates and details will be announced when future collection events are scheduled.
Who Can Participate?
Household Hazardous Waste Day is available to:
- Residents of the City of Lafayette
- Residents of unincorporated Lafayette Parish
Commercial or business waste is NOT accepted.
