GRANT FUNDS HELP CONTROL LITTER AT LAFAYETTE CITY BUS STOPS

Lafayette, LA – Lafayette Consolidated Government (LCG) has placed trash receptacles at various city bus stops in Lafayette to help control litter. Grant money awarded by Keep Louisiana Beautiful paid for five receptacles at the following bus stops:

  • E Pont Des Mouton Road at Amber Street
  • E Pont Des Mouton Road at Brown Park
  • Johnston Street at Foreman Street
  • Ambassador Caffery Parkway at Panda Express restaurant
  • Settlers Trace Boulevard at the Target store
LCG Environmental Quality Manager Bess Foret said, “Litter isn’t just unsightly, it’s harmful to the environment. We’re grateful for any help to make Lafayette a cleaner city.” According to Keep Louisiana Beautiful, receptacles placed in public spaces reduce litter by 56 percent.
