CLASS TITLE: LIBRARIAN I (Adult Reference)
MINIMUM STARTING PAY: HOURLY - $18.85-$23.56/DOE - MONTHLY - $3,267-$4,084/DOE
PURPOSE AND NATURE OF WORK
Positions in this class are responsible for staffing a reference information desk, assisting patrons of all ages with reference questions, general reader’s advisory service, and library related technology and electronic resources. Duties in this area of assignment include collaboratively creating and conducting adult programs, including facilitating use of Makerspace technologies and equipment, and participating in library outreach activities. Incumbents will be required to work some nights and weekends.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree from an ALA-accredited Library and Information Science school; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
SPECIAL NECESSARY QUALIFICATION
Applicants must have a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited institution or be within one or two semesters of completing the same to be considered for this position.
TYPE OF EXAMINATION
Examination will be a ratings of education and experience through a structured interview.
