CLASS TITLE: EQUIPMENT OPERATOR IV (LUS Wastewater Collection)
MINIMUM STARTING PAY: HOURLY - $14.81-$18.51/DOE, MONTHLY - $2,567-$3,209/DOE
PURPOSE AND NATURE OF WORK
Operate heavy equipment in the construction, maintenance, and repair of Wastewater Collection system. May supervise the members of a crew to ensure that work schedules are maintained. Operate a backhoe, vacuum flusher truck, and other heavy equipment and transport that equipment on 16’ trailer.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from high school and experience in the operation of heavy construction equipment similar to those types listed herein, including some experience in precision work; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
NECESSARY SPECIAL QUALIFICATION
Possession of the appropriate class commercial driver’s license and endorsements as issued by the State of Louisiana. Applicants must have at least a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) permit to apply and test, but must obtain a Louisiana Class A CDL with Air Brake, Tanker, and Combination Endorsements, prior to appointment.
TYPE OF EXAMINATION
Performance test on independent and safe operation of backhoe and manual transmission tandem axle dump truck.
