CLASS TITLE: ELECTRICAL ENGINEER II (LUS – Energy Control)

MINIMUM STARTING PAY: HOURLY - $28.42-$35.53/DOE, MONTHLY - $4,926-$6,158/DOE

PURPOSE AND NATURE OF WORK

Perform maintenance and updates for NERC CIP (Critical Infrastructure Protection) protected OMS (Outage Management System) servers, while following strict CIP guidelines for configuration change management. Create, maintain, and document firewall access required for allowing communication between protected NERC CIP servers and OMS server on the LUS network. Responsible for interfaces between the OMS servers and SCADA servers, as well as troubleshooting additional outside interfaces such as AVL, GIS, SCADA, CCB, API, etc. Write procedures for OMS end users to follow and generate documentation for NERC CIP compliance.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

Possession of the Engineer Intern certificate by examination, in the State of Louisiana; if non-resident with an equivalent certification, to obtain Louisiana certificate. Knowledge of NERC CIP regulations and experience with and knowledge of the characteristics of a large electric utility. Experience and knowledge of databases, servers, interfacing, and troubleshooting.

NECESSARY SPECIAL QUALIFICATION

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university AND significant prior working experience as an Engineer I, or equivalent in another jurisdiction.

TYPE OF EXAMINATION

Examination will be a rating of education and experience through a structured interview.
